(Reading for Comprehension, Language Study, Summary,

Mind Mapping) [16]

Q.1.A) Read the extract and complete the activities given below: [ 12 ]

(Seen Passage)

Read the extract and complete the activities given below: Punctually at midday, he opened his bag and spread out his professional equipment, which consisted of a dozen cowrie shells, a square piece of cloth with obscure mystic charts on it, a notebook, and a bundle of Palmyra writing. His forehead was resplendent (glorious) with sacred ash and vermilion, and his eyes sparkled with a sharp abnormal gleam (shine) which was really an outcome of a continual searching look for customers, but which his simple clients took to be a prophetic light and felt comforted. The power of his eyes was considerably enhanced by their position placed as they were between the painted forehead and the dark whiskers (moustaches) which streamed down his cheeks: even a half-wit’s eyes would sparkle in such a setting. To crown the effect, he wound a saffron-coloured turban around his head. This colour scheme never failed. People were attracted to him as bees are attracted to cosmos or dahlia stalks. He sat under the boughs of a spreading tamarind tree which flanked a path running through the Town Hall Park. It was a remarkable place in many ways. A surging crowd was always moving up and down this narrow road from morning till night. A variety of trades and occupations was represented all along its way: medicine sellers, sellers of stolen hardware and junk, magicians, and above all, an auctioneer of cheap cloth, who created enough din all day to attract the whole town. Next to him in vociferousness came a vendor of fried groundnut, who gave his ware a fancy name each day, calling it “Bombay Ice Cream” one day and on the next “Delhi Almond,” and on the third “Raja’s Delicacy,” and so on and so forth, and people flocked to him. A considerable portion of this crowd dallied before the astrologer too. The astrologer transacted his business by the light of a flare which crackled and smoked up above the groundnut heap nearby. Half the enchantment of the place was due to the fact that it did not have the benefit of municipal lighting. The place was lit up by shop lights. One or two had hissing gaslights, some had naked flares stuck on poles, some were lit up by old cycle lamps, and one or two, like the astrologer, managed without lights of their own. It was a bewildering crisscross of light rays and moving shadows. This suited the astrologer very well, for the simple reason that he had not in the least intended to be an astrologer when he began life; and he knew no more of what was going to happen to others than he knew what was going to happen to himself next minute. He was as much a stranger to the stars as were his innocent customers. Yet he said things which pleased and astonished everyone: that was more a matter of study, practice, and shrewd guesswork. All the same, it was as much an honest man’s labour as any other, and he deserved the wages he carried home at the end of a day.

Al. State if the given statements are True or False. (2)

  1. The astrologer used to have the preparation of his business in quite professional way.
  2. ii. The physical appearance of the astrologer hardly created an impact on the customers.
  3. iii. The place was busy with a variety of occupations.

Activities of the astrologer

  1. Open his bag and spread out his professional equipment punctually at midday.
  2. Enhance his physical appearance by applying sacred ash and vermilion on his forehead and adorn a saffron turban around his head.
  3. Say things which pleased and astonished everyone.
  4. Transact his business by the light of a flare which crackled and smoked up above the groundnut heap nearby.

A3.

The astrologer was very good at figuring out people. He used to enhance his face by applying sacred ash and vermilion. He knew this colour scheme would attract the people. He also worked near the groundnut vendor intentionally because he knew the huge crowd around the peanut vendor would someday dally towards him. The place where he sat had minimal lighting and crisscross of lights streaming in. This gave his place a mysterious aura which is needed for an astrologer. He said things which would please and astonish the crowd. So the choice of his appearance and words coupled with the location proves that the astrologer was a shrewd judge of character.

Q.2.A) Read the extract and complete the activities given below: [18]

(Unseen Passage)

Read the extract and complete the activities given below:

Luxurious houses on the edge of a big city which one promoter sold with the tagline “Where Nature peeps through every window.” All the advantages of a modern lifestyle but with the added bonus of fresh air. But nature isn’t greenery alone; it also includes wild animals. While the view from the picture windows was easy on the eye, occasionally, it made them gulp with nervousness. At dusk, wild cats leaped out of the adjoining forest on to the top of the peripheral walls and strolled nonchalantly. Sometimes, they lounged on ledges with their long tails swinging freely, oblivious of the many worried human eyes pinned on them. Their cold yellow aggressive eyes turned black as their pupils dilated with failing light. Some Mumbaikars paid a lot of money to see leopards on safari in Africa. But to watch them from one’s own home was disconcerting. These predators were out of line, stepping off nature into the city. Why did the leopards not stay within the 100-square kilometre Sanjay Gandhi National Park? Perhaps, the leopards thought that if people could venture into nature to jog, walk and picnic, why couldn’t they hang around apartment blocks? If people could enjoy nature, couldn’t nature savour humanity’s offerings? Capturing leopards is extraordinarily simple. These curious cats seem incapable of resisting a free meal, walking into baited traps without hesitation. The reason the felines are attracted to their residential community is prey : stray dogs that live on rubbish heaps. Taking care of the food source is the best course of action, the volunteers said.

A2. Complete the following sentences:

A4.

Human beings now own the entire globe. Humans are the most advanced animals on the planet, with highly evolved brains. They are well-aware of what they are doing. They are in charge of themselves. When they go for a jog, a walk, or a picnic in the wood they are often not a threat to the animals. When wild animals congregate near apartment buildings, however, they pose a hazard to inhabitants and may murder or maul them. As a result, they should not be permitted to do so.

B Summary Writing: [3]

Prepare a summary of the extract given in Q. 2 (A). Give it a suitable title. You may use the following points:

Luxurious houses in nature – fear of wild animals – leopards enjoy human habitation – provide food

Ans:

Nature’s Balance

Luxurious homes are now being constructed on the outskirts of cities that are close to nature. While this may result in more greenery and fresh air, there is also the risk of wild creatures such as leopards infiltrating these apartment buildings. Leopards prefer human settlements because of the food available—stray dogs living on garbage dumps. The problem of wild animals infiltrating towns will be solved if this food source is addressed.

3.B Appreciation : [4]

On the deck the Rover takes his stand, So dark it is they see no land. Quoth Sir Ralph, “It will be lighter soon, For there is the dawn of the rising Moon.” “Canst hear,” said one, “the breakers roar? For methinks we should be near the shore.” “Now, where we are I cannot tell, But I wish we could hear the Inchcape Bell. ” They hear no sound, the swell is strong, Though the wind hath fallen they drift along; Till the vessel strikes with a shivering shock, “Oh Christ! It is the Inchcape Rock! ” Sir Ralph the Rover tore his hair, curst himself in his despair; The waves rush in on every side, The ship is sinking beneath the tide.

Read the given extract and write a poetic appreciation of the poem with the help of the following points.

• About the poet and the title

• The theme

• Language/poetic devices used in the poem

• Special features

• Your opinion about the poem

Ans:

‘The Inchcape Rock’ by Robert Southey is a ballad of seventeen stanzas, also called quatrains as they are made of four lines each. The primary theme of the poem is that those who do bad things meet with a bad end at the hands of fate. The idea of ‘what goes around comes around’ is at the core of the poem. The ballad is composed in a narrative style and the rhyming couplets follow the rhyme scheme ‘aabb’. The poem also contains a lot of old English words. The poet embellishes his composition with a number of figures of speech such as Alliteration, Antithesis, Apostrophe, Consonance, Exclamation, Inversion, Metaphor, Onomatopoeia, Personification, Repetition, Simile, Synecdoche, and Transferred Epithet. The special feature of the poem is the vivid imagery that the poet employs to convey the message of poetic justice. The use of symbolism also adds to the beauty of the poem. The Inchcape Rock is symbolic of the trap that Sir Ralph had laid down for others, which he himself fell into. Through the poem has been composed in the 18th century, the message conveyed by it is relevant even today – that one should steer clear of wickedness and malice towards others, as that could be the cause of one’s own doom. The poem is didactic in nature, meaning that it conveys a moral through the story depicted in it. The moral of this poem is ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’. In my opinion, the poem is timeless, as its relevance can never diminish. For as long as humans suffer from the vice of jealousy, this poem will keep reminding them of its consequences.

A2) Statement of Purpose: [4]

You have been shortlisted for a scholarship to attend an online course in developing English-speaking skills from the American Embassy in India. You always wanted to learn English from expert teachers in India and from native American trainers. The final selection will be made as per the statements of purpose given by the shortlisted candidates. Prepare a ‘statement of purpose’ in about 100 to 150 words, which will help you to get entry to the course.

Ans:

Ever since I was a child, I have been my family’s English translator. My love for English literature is endless. From ‘Famous Five’ to ‘Moby Dick’ and Shakespeare’s plays, I love it all. The language and its literature have fascinated me so much that I have decided to pursue a career within the language. India has a good number of schools and colleges with English as the base and first language, but not every student gets the opportunity to get enrolled in those schools. As a kid, I always took part in competitions like Essay, Story and other forms of creative writing, Elocution and Debates. I have won several prizes for the same too. I was also the Head of my school magazine. I have worked as a freelance Content Writer for almost a year. I did an internship under Free word Publishers, where I was guided by experts of the field. I learnt essential skills, developed my vocabulary, and improved my linguistics while working with them.

I began a book reading club in my neighbourhood two years ago, with the aim of helping people improve their English communication. The response was low initially. But after a few people benefitted from it, the word spread and today, we are nearly 300+ members with 5 branches across the city. Along with book readings, we also discuss books and introduce new words, leading to spoken English practice. I wish to change the scenario of the English language in India, helping others to benefit and there is nowhere better for me to learn from than the American Embassy in India. I wish to develop a spoken and written English program for people who move to other countries, helping them adjust easily. I am the ideal candidate for your course, and getting selected in this scholarship program, would make my dream come true.

A.3 Group Discussion: [4]

Imagine that you have participated in the inter-college group discussion contest on the occasion of National Youth Day. There were three other contenders with you in the final round of the contest and the topic of the discussion was ‘Paper Books are better than the E-Books’. Write the same discussion in the form of dialogues that you have experienced. Write suitable dialogues for each participant giving his/her opinion on the given topic.

Ans:

Instructor:We have finally reached the final round of the National Youth Day inter-college group discussion contest and the topic of this round’s discussion is ‘Paper Books are better than the E-Books’. Let the discussion begin.
Maithili:Any book lover would know the feeling of holding a paper book in your hands. Print books have the feel of a book and you can hold it, turn the pages, and feel the paper. You cannot get the same experience with e-books.
Vijay:I agree with Maithili. The satisfaction of physically going to a library and picking out a book is priceless. A part of research conducted across Europe mentions that information is easier recalled when it was read from a paper book as compared to an e-book. Most of us already spend enough time being glued to screens, and staring at another one to read is not very encouraging.
Derek:I have to disagree. E-books are much cheaper as compared to paper books, and are much easier to carry anywhere. It is the feeling of a library at your fingertip.
Vijay:I agree with Derek that an e-book is portable. Besides, you can access the dictionary easily and browse the web too. You can also highlight key parts and browse it conveniently. However, the cost of a Kindle or a reading tablet is high. It is also uncomfortable to read on an electronic device in the sunlight.
Karan:I agree with Vijay. And electronics aren’t really durable when we think of it. Your gadget will last for 5 to 7 years, but a book once bought is yours for a lifetime.
Vijay:And books have so many memories attached to it. They remind us of our bedtime stories with family, Book exchanges of your favourite actor or genre, school readings and so much more.
Maithili:To conclude, I feel that it depends on each person what they prefer. Paper books have a different feeling, but e-books have their fair share of perks too.

Q. 4.B Attempt any ONE of the following: [4]

4.B.1. E-Mail: [4]

Write a letter to the Editor of a Newspaper, making the public aware of rising air and noise pollution in your area. Mention the bad air quality index that appears in the newspaper daily and write about the bad effects of air and noise pollution and suggest some measures to curb it.

Ans:

To [email protected]

Subject: Raise awareness for rising air and noise pollution in Subhash Nagar.

Respected Sir/Ma’am,

I, Saina Sharma, would like to bring attention to the rising air and noise pollution in my area Subhash Nagar, Nagpur, through your esteemed newspaper.

You have recently begun publishing the air quality index of the city daily. If we observe the index, air and noise pollution are at an all-time high in my area. The air quality index has crossed 210, a rate that is alarming. To add to it, sound pollution is also surging day-by-day. At any given time of the day, 10 minutes at a busy junction will lead to a headache and stress.

We are all aware about the health hazards that these man-made evils cause. It is high time that we understand how it affects us personally. Prolonged exposure to air and noise pollution can cause long-term damage to people’s brain, kidneys, liver and health problems ranging from stress, poor concentration, sleep disturbance to cognitive impairment and hearing loss. Our inaction as a society towards this imminent danger is appalling. A state will come where we would not be able to undo the effects of pollution. It is our duty to protect the environment for the present as well as the future generation.

The solution to the problem is not complex. It requires a few changes in our personal as well as business activities. By reducing garbage burning and use of firecrackers, by ensuring that our vehicle has a PUC certificate, by installing purifiers in factories, recycling and reusing, we can control the rise in air pollution. Noise pollution can be minimized by simple changes like keeping volumes of loudspeakers low and reduce honking. If we all come together, we can indeed make a difference. I request you to initiate a campaign for this cause.

Thanking you.

Yours sincerely,

Saina Sharma

Ans:

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends.

Our college’s NCC unit has undertaken a cleanliness drive in our town Vishramwadi. The drive is an initiative to upgrade the health and hygiene conditions in and around our town.

`Cleanliness is next to godliness.’ Keeping the surroundings and environment clean and hygienic is the responsibility of every citizen, both individually and collectively.

The number of people hospitalised due to water and air borne diseases in our town is at an all-time high. The primary culprit behind this epidemic is the air we breathe and the water we drink. The surrounding areas of our town are littered with garbage. The toilets are not kept clean and the river has gathered a lot of trash on its bank. Lack of hygiene has lead to pollution and aggravated the spread of diseases.

However, rather than being a mute spectator, we’ve decided to take charge of the situation. We plan to clean the entire town in three phases. The first phase will be setting up a proper waste management system, the second phase will be cleaning of the river bank and other natural resources and the last phase will be upgrading and maintaining sanitary facilities available for people. As the captain of the NCC unit of the college, I urge you to join this campaign.

It is our moral responsibility that we put a stop to these unhealthy practices and pave the way for a bright future of Vishramwadi. I hope that all of you would extend your support in this endeavour.

Thank you!

4. C.3 Expansion of an idea: [4]

Expand the following idea with the help of the points given below: (100-150 words) ‘Nature is the best teacher’

  • Hidden treasures in nature.
  • Purpose/Reasons to get close to nature.
  • Teaching/Learning about nature (why best teacher).
  • Gifts/Benefits from nature.

Ans:

Nature is the best Teacher

The phrase ‘Nature is the best teacher’ implies that by keen observation and with an open mind, we can learn a lot from nature. Nature is beauty, art and science. Millions of objects, specimens in nature have given new insights, advanced our knowledge and helped the world in the collective endeavor to explore the hidden treasures in nature.

Being amidst nature, getting close and observing its creations, teaches us a great deal. The mountains teach us to stand strong against any adversity. The trees teach us to have strong roots (fundamentals). The water teaches us to be flexible and calm. Hummingbirds teach us the importance of hard work. Ants teach us persistence and a flower teaches us to be vibrant and radiate happiness.

However, of all the things, most importantly nature teaches us balance. The various gifts of nature like summer and winter, sun and moon, day and night are great examples of balance. This balance eventually creates rhythm — a rhythm that binds everything together. Thus, if we take time to observe the beauty of nature around us, each day could be a new lesson.

4.D I Attempt any ONE of the following : [4]

4.D.1 I Review: [4]

Write a review of the film that you remember you’ve watched and can’t forget easily. Give details about the movie using the following supporting points.

  • Title of the film.
  • The star cast and production house (if you remember).
  • The gist of the plot.
  • The reason you like the film.
  • Your favorite scene from the movie.
  • Your opinion and recommendation.

Ans:

Title of the film: The star cast and production house (if you remember): The gist of the plot The reason you like the film Your favorite scene from the movie: Your opinion and recommendation:The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The movie is a series of fantasy film which is co-written and directed by Andrew Anderson. This film was released in 2005 and was co-produced by Walden Media and Walt Disney. Harry Gregson Williams had directed the music of this British-American movie which was a huge hit at the box office. This is a story of four English siblings named Lucy (Georgie Henley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Peter (William Moseley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes) who are evacuated from London during the Second World War and end up in the countryside. While stepping beyond a wardrobe to hide from their temporary stepmother, the kids land up in an imaginary, gleaming land called Narnia. There, they could see a city with fauns, trees which could talk and a white witch. In this land, a couple of kind beavers and a tiger protect them from the vicious intentions of a witch. The movie takes interesting turns as the four kids make their journey through the imaginary city of Narnia. I like the movie because it shows the importance of love, sacrifice, repentance and loyalty. My favorite scene from the movie is when Lucy discovers the wardrobe which leads to Narnia. She walks into the room, she notices the wardrobe and the music stops. As she reaches the wardrobe and opens it, mothballs roll onto the ground which was beautiful to see. The film ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ is based on a novel written by C. S. Lewis. The movie turned out to be a great success at the box office in the year 2005. The director has employed absolute excellence in the special effects, character plots and use of technology in the film. All these factors together, according to me, make this film worth watching for audience across age groups. It is definitely worth a watch.

  • Basic Education
  • Lack of knowledge, behaviors and social thinking
  • Effect of education
  • Social behavior and requirements

Ans:

PROTECT OUR CHILDREN

They are the future citizens of our nation. Help them live a dignified life. Speak up against Child Labour. They are our children.

Poverty has led to a constant increase in child labour, especially in developing and underdeveloped countries. Children, who are as young as 8 and 9 years, are made to work under torturous conditions. Every child has the right to basic education, which the Government of India provides free of cost. To deprive a child of its basic rights will only lead to their lack of knowledge and experience required to build a good lifestyle. Educating a child means helping them learn values, social behaviors and breaking the vicious cycle of poverty. Child labour takes away the opportunity of a child to have a normal childhood and a proper education. It is the responsibility of each citizen to voice against this evil. Child labour is a criminal offence and legal steps need to be taken against people who employ children.

Every Voice Matters! Make Yours Count!

Let us pledge to provide basic

education to every child.

5.B Answer the following questions in about 50 words : [4]

5.B.1 [2]

In the questioning session Denham was expressing few students’ feelings. Illustrate.

Ans:

Denham in his half yearly report severely criticised the general pattern of P.T. and games. He pointed out that P.T activities were not properly planned by emphasising on the limitation of space and its effects on the activities. He complained about the activities being pointless and monotonous. This report of his was received with a loud cheer by all the boys showing their agreement. During the questioning session, Denham was of the opinion that exercise could only benefit the students if they were performed daily and for longer periods of time thereby implying that as a P.T. class was only for 20 minutes twice a week it was a waste of time. He counter-argued miss Phillip’s response by stating that, if what Miss Phillips was saying was true, then only those students who need P.T. should be made to take it and boys like Denham who don’t depend on it for the exercise should be allowed to use the time as they see fit.

5.B.2 [2]

The extract presents the narrator as a silent observer of the events. Explain.

Ans:

The half-yearly report of the students’ council was a measure of students’ progress in the first half of the year which had begun after Easter. Braithwaite knew that on the day of the event, all eyes would be on the students. He noted that ‘it was one of the most important days in the calendar of Greenslade’s school’. The reports to be presented by the students were an overview of what they had learned with Braithwaite and were therefore a test of his teaching skills. Thus, Braithwaite took the event as a perfect chance to sit back and observe his student as an audience.

Explain how the time gained of a full day is revealed to Mr. Fogg.

Ans:

When Passepartout arrives at the clergyman’s house to hire his services for the next day (Monday), he realizes that the next day is not Monday but is in fact, Sunday. He rushes back home to Fogg and conveys this to Fogg in the following line, “Because tomorrow is Sunday!” Passepartout had quickly concluded that if tomorrow were in fact, Sunday, then today must be Saturday, 21st December. This meant that Fogg could still win the bet because the deadline for the bet is 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, 21st December. He then pulls him and drags him into the cab to reach the reform club on time.

5.C.2

Explain the stress on the mind of Fogg after returning from world tour at Saville Row.

Still, Mr. Fogg handled his misfortune with calmness. He also felt guilty and blames himself for bringing misfortune to Aouda. He thought that he was rich enough to give her a free and happy life when he decided to bring Aouda from India. But since he lost the wager he had not a single penny left with him and had no riches to offer her.

SECTION I: PROSE
The astrologer used to have the preparation of his business in quite professional way.
ii. The physical appearance of the astrologer hardly created an impact on the customers.

Open his bag and spread out his professional equipment punctually at midday.
Enhance his physical appearance by applying sacred ash and vermilion on his forehead and adorn a saffron turban around his head.
Say things which pleased and astonished everyone.

A5.

When I had money, money, 0!
I knew no joy till I went poor;
For many a false man as a friend
Came knocking all day at my door.
Then felt I like a child that holds
A trumpet that he must not blow
Because a man is dead; I dared
Not speak to let this false world know.
Much have I thought of life, and seen
How poor men’s hearts are ever light;
And how their wives do hum like bees
About their work from morn till night.
So, when I hear these poor ones laugh,
And see the rich ones coldly frown
Poor men, think I, need not go up
So much as rich men should come down.
When I had money, money, 0!
My many friends proved all untrue;
But now I have no money, 0!
My friends are real, though very few.

On the deck the Rover takes his stand,
So dark it is they see no land.
Quoth Sir Ralph, “It will be lighter soon,
For there is the dawn of the rising Moon.”
“Canst hear,” said one, “the breakers roar?
For methinks we should be near the shore.”
“Now, where we are I cannot tell,
But I wish we could hear the Inchcape Bell.
” They hear no sound, the swell is strong,
Though the wind hath fallen they drift along;
Till the vessel strikes with a shivering shock,
“Oh Christ! It is the Inchcape Rock!
” Sir Ralph the Rover tore his hair,
curst himself in his despair;
The waves rush in on every side,
The ship is sinking beneath the tide.

Ans:
Instructor:
We have finally reached the final round of the National Youth Day inter-college group discussion contest and the topic of this round’s discussion is ‘Paper Books are better than the E-Books’. Let the discussion begin.
Maithili:
Any book lover would know the feeling of holding a paper book in your hands. Print books have the feel of a book and you can hold it, turn the pages, and feel the paper. You cannot get the same experience with e-books.
Vijay:
I agree with Maithili. The satisfaction of physically going to a library and picking out a book is priceless. A part of research conducted across Europe mentions that information is easier recalled when it was read from a paper book as compared to an e-book. Most of us already spend enough time being glued to screens, and staring at another one to read is not very encouraging.
Derek:
I have to disagree. E-books are much cheaper as compared to paper books, and are much easier to carry anywhere. It is the feeling of a library at your fingertip.
Vijay:
I agree with Derek that an e-book is portable. Besides, you can access the dictionary easily and browse the web too. You can also highlight key parts and browse it conveniently. However, the cost of a Kindle or a reading tablet is high. It is also uncomfortable to read on an electronic device in the sunlight.
Karan:
I agree with Vijay. And electronics aren’t really durable when we think of it. Your gadget will last for 5 to 7 years, but a book once bought is yours for a lifetime.
Vijay:
And books have so many memories attached to it. They remind us of our bedtime stories with family, Book exchanges of your favourite actor or genre, school readings and so much more.
Maithili:
To conclude, I feel that it depends on each person what they prefer. Paper books have a different feeling, but e-books have their fair share of perks too.

4.B.1. E-Mail: [4]
Write a letter to the Editor of a Newspaper, making the public aware of rising air and noise pollution in your area. Mention the bad air quality index that appears in the newspaper daily and write about the bad effects of air and noise pollution and suggest some measures to curb it.
Ans:

The Zilla Parishad school of Aurangabad provides education in English as well as Marathi Medium during different slots of the
day. Students come from more than 8 villages of the district and the strength is 700, from Std. 1st to 10th. The school houses 20 expert teachers for different subjects. It aims at providing exposure and knowledge to all the students. My uncle teaches Science, and just like all the teachers, tries to make it fun and interesting for the kids. The teachers put in extra efforts to help the students. The school arranges various trips and events, to encourage the students and build co-curricular activity skills. The efforts of the school staff to provide quality education to rural students is commendable.

Cleanliness is next to godliness.
Need/Importance of cleanliness.
Effects of unhygienic conditions- diseases, pollutions, etc.
Suggestions and concluding the speech.

Hidden treasures in nature.
Purpose/Reasons to get close to nature.
Teaching/Learning about nature (why best teacher).
Gifts/Benefits from nature.

Your opinion and recommendation:
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Social behavior and requirements

Ans:
PROTECT OUR CHILDREN

They are the future citizens of our nation.

Make Yours Count!

education to every child.

5.C.1
Explain how the time gained of a full day is revealed to Mr. Fogg.
Ans:
Passepartout is sent to engage a clergyman for the marriage of Fogg and Aouda. According to them, the marriage is to be solemnized the next day on Monday.
Ans:
After returning from the world tour at Saville Row, Fogg locks himself in his room and, for the first time, allows himself to be seriously depressed about seemingly losing the bet. After overcoming numerous obstacles in his journey and arriving so close to his goal, he regretted losing the wager to an unforeseen event he was unarmed for.
